Thankfully, dry hair can be fixed even with simple home remedies.
This article will do just that; discuss various home remedies for dry hair.
The hot oil treatment
We are talking about oil that is warm or hot to the touch here, not the spicy kind of oil. Use a few teaspoons of oil like coconut oil or almond oil and then heat it up in a vessel. Heat it up to a temperature that will be bearable on your scalp.
Take the oil and gently massage it into your hair, without working the massage into the roots. After all your hair is drenched in the warmed up oil, use a shower cap to lock the oils into your hair, for about 20 minutes or so. Shower, rinse and shampoo out the oils to reveal hair that would have most certainly taken on a glow that you mightn’t have seen in a very long time.
Oil and honey treatment
This is another super easy home remedy used to treat dull, lifeless, dry hair. Make a fine paste using oil and honey in required proportions and mask your hair thoroughly with the paste. Then, use a shower cap to soak this paste into your hair for about 20 minutes or so. Remove the wrap and shampoo out your hair to reveal repaired hair.
Egg whites to the rescue
The important thing to remember here is that you need egg whites and not the yolk. Be very careful about separating the yolk as that can make your hair very messy and difficult to wash. Mix the egg whites with some water to make a gel like liquid that you will then apply on your hair. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then shampoo. The proteins in the egg white will result in an amazing vitalization of your formerly dry hair.
Beer for my hair! Don’t tell me
It is true. Beer can rescue your dry hair. Some college kid must have played a prank on his girlfriend and drenched her hair in beer, as she slept. She must have woken up to hair that was superbly moisturized, with an extra sheen to it. Thanks to that funny prank, many women know store some beer in a spray can and then spray it onto their hair.
The strong odor associated with beer will usually fade within minutes and you don’t have to worry about smelling like an alcoholic by using this home remedy. Just use beer that is not cold and also let the beer become flat before you use this home remedy. You can also use a small bucket to soak your hair in beer for about 5 minutes. This will add a lot of volume and bounce to your dry hair.
Changes to your diet
Have a diet that is rich in vegetables, fruits, iron and good fats as well. Such a diet will repair your dry hair from the inside. Make it a point to also drink a lot of water if you want hair that never dries out. Cut down on smoking and alcohol consumption as it can aid with both skin and hair care.
