Do you ever see celebrities or makeup artists wearing bold makeup looks, like neon eyeshadow, and you wish that you could pull that off? Well, it doesn’t take a red carpet or a cosmetology degree to do this!
Wearing neon eyeshadow is something that anyone can do if they just learn how to wear it properly. With a little bit of practice you can add some flare to your makeup look and have people who envy you!
1. Clean Your Face
Take off all of your other eye and face makeup so you are starting fresh with your eye shadow. Make sure you also put on eye primer so that your shadow will go on easily and stay on as well. Let your face dry completely before you move on to the next step.
2. Apply Shadow
Using your favorite neon eyeshadow and a shadow brush; gently apply some color to the middle of your eyelid. After this, apply more so that the entire area of your eyelid is covered. Only apply a light coat, as you can go back and add more if the neon color isn’t as bright as you want it to be.
If you want to add some depth to your eyes, then add a darker color into the crease and then blend it with the neon color with a blending brush. This can make your eyes look bigger and will make them pop, but it is not necessary if you don’t want to do it!
3. Apply Mascara and Eyeliner
Balance is important when you’re wearing neon colors on your eyes, so make sure your other features stand out as well. Start by applying eyeliner to your top lid as close to the lash line as you can get. After this, apply mascara until your lashes are curly and lengthened.
If you want to go for a really bold look, then use a neon colored liner instead of something like black or brown. For example, you could apply neon pink liner to go with neon pink eyeshadow. There are endless combinations; all you have to do is make sure they look good with each other!
4. Apply Foundation and Highlighting Shadow
Put on your foundation, blush and bronzer as you normally would. You want people to look at your shadow, not the flaws in your face, so make sure you cover up any imperfections that are bothering you. Concealer is a great tool to have around because it covers up any flaws or blemishes quickly.
Highlighting shadow is something that you can brush on your brow bone to draw attention to your eyes. This is basically a white shimmery shadow that you can purchase in a set or on its own.
5. Color Your Brows
Your eyebrows set the frame for your face, which means you need to make sure they look great when you’re wearing neon shadow! Fill them in with a brow brush and you will have a completed look that doesn’t seem like it’s off-balance.
6. Dress Up
Finish off your look with some bold earrings, a cute outfit and a hairstyle that rocks. Neon eyeliner goes great with a simple outfit, but can also really make a daring outfit pop.
