MARIA LAU GOES TRIBAL!
, Editor & Professional Makeup Artist
Introducing Maria Laus fourth collection Tribal Clish-Clash. This collection brings a fresh and youthful edge to the brand with bright colours and new materials on a base of black. While keeping her signature materials of hosiery and skillful techniques of braiding, Maria has introduced some new textile additions of neon pink hair, black lava beads and sophisticated colour-clashes. I am confident to say that this collection for Autumn/Winter 2016-11 pushes Maria Lau towards a more edgy, fashion forward style!
Youd think that the use of tights for fashion jewellery accessories is a bit far fetched, however Maria Lau works them very cleverly into her designs. The use of matt black tights intertwined with brightly coloured semi-precious stones in jade and calcite, with high-shine hematine put a new twist on the tribal theme, replacing the natural coloured beads and materials of the tribes with futuristic and vivid colours to give a luxuriously casual edge.
Some designs have magnetic elements and interchangeable pieces that give you the opportunity to create your own unique style and look for the jewellery. With large hooped silver earrings, updated versions of the long necklaces, bracelets to mix-and-match as well as adjustable and interchangeable pieces
Tribal Clish-Clash is as wearable as previous collections but has a new energetic and vibrant look Im sure youll agree
Maria Laus current stockists include Kabiri and Johnny Rocket in London, as well as www.notjustalabel.com
