Is there anything other than pastels for this season? Being of the pear-shaped variety, I have to wear dark trousers and pastel tops with dark bottoms do not look good! What else should I be looking out for?
Miss Curvy, Leeds
Dear Miss Curvy,
Welcome to the club! Don’t worr,y pastels aren’t only one trend to hit the high street this season. If black trousers are your staple then make them bootcut, which are more flattering to pear shapes. Also use the top half of your body to draw the eye up so maybe use a Breton style top with horizontal stripes teamed with your black trousers and a tan leather satchel.
Another option is to take inspiration from the catwalk from designers, such as Dolce and Gabbana and Christian Dior, by wearing a floral top such as this one from high street store Dorothy Perkins. This is perfect for spring with a grey wrap cardigan to emphasis a smaller waist.
Your last option could be a Chanel (esque) tweed jacket teamed with a simple white tee underneath. This jacket from Topshop is the prefect antidote to freshen up a dull wardrobe. A statement necklace would work well and to complete that Chanel inspired look why not add a few pearls for good measure. Hope this helps Miss Curvy.
